VICORI aims to address key cardio-oncology research questions and to optimise patient management through informing evidence-based guidelines and the development of targeted clinical trials in this area.

Aim 1
Does a previous cancer diagnosis affect the management of cardiac conditions and outcomes?
We will investigate whether patients with a cancer diagnosis, who subsequently develop cardiovascular disease, are managed differently from patients without cancer.
Aim 2
Do cardiovascular treatments, interventions and surgery alter cancer risk or outcomes?
We will investigate whether cardiovascular treatments, interventions, and surgery alter a patient’s subsequent risk of developing cancer.
Aim 3
Do cancer treatments alter cardiovascular risk or outcomes?
We will investigate whether cancer treatments affect the risk of long term adverse cardiovascular disease states or events.
Aim 4
Does pre-existing cardiac disease affect the management of cancer or cancer outcomes?
We will investigate whether patients with cardiovascular disease, who subsequently develop cancer, are managed differently from patients without cardiovascular disease.
